LSRN Publication: Research to Transgress (May 2026)

Part of a series of peer-reviewed articles published by the Learning and Skills Research Network (LSRN), I reflect on researching the experiences of ESOL practitioners in Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how ESOL is positioned within the wider adult and further education landscape throughout these islands.

NB: the title and focus of this publication reflects a nod to the writings of bell hooks.

The article draws on the experiences of ESOL practitioners in Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as setting out a contextual analysis of public-funded ESOL provision.
